What is the Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Course?
The EFAW course equips participants with the practical knowledge and confidence to respond to a wide range of medical emergencies in the workplace. The training combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on exercises to ensure participants are fully prepared for real-life situations.
Key Topics Covered
Participants will gain proficiency in essential first aid skills, including:
Scene assessment to evaluate safety and identify hazards.
Barrier protection to ensure personal safety while providing care.
Primary assessment, including checking for responsiveness, breathing, and circulation.
Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for adults and children.
Recovery position for unresponsive casualties.
Management of serious bleeding, shock, including seizures, spinal injuries, choking in adults, burns and temperature-related injuries, minor cuts, scrapes, and bruises.
Workplace-specific first aid regulations and legal responsibilities.
Assessing workplace needs for first aid provisions.
Participants will also learn how to handle medical conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, asthma attacks, and seizures. Additionally, the course addresses how to record and report incidents in compliance with workplace regulations.
