EFR CPR and AED Course

What is the EFR Primary and Secondary Care with AED Course?

The EFR Primary and Secondary Care with AED Course is a comprehensive training program that equips participants with essential life-saving skills to respond effectively to medical emergencies. The Primary Care component focuses on managing life-threatening situations, such as cardiac arrest, choking, and severe bleeding, through Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), airway management, and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

The Secondary Care section covers first aid for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses, including wound care, fracture management, illness assessment, and bandaging techniques. Delivered through a combination of theoretical instruction and hands-on practical exercises, this course ensures participants gain the confidence and competence to provide immediate, effective care in both workplace and domestic settings.

  • Airway Management & Rescue Breathing – Ensuring the casualty’s airway is open and providing breaths.

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) – Performing high-quality chest compressions.

  • Obstructed Airway Management – Handling choking emergencies for conscious and unconscious individuals.

EFR CPR and AED Course

Secondary Care (Non-Life-Threatening)

Learn how to provide first aid for injuries and illnesses that are not immediately life-threatening but still require prompt attention:

  • Injury Assessment – Evaluating wounds, fractures, and other injuries.

  • Illness Assessment – Recognising signs of medical conditions like diabetes, asthma, or allergic reactions.

  • Bandaging Techniques – Properly dressing wounds to prevent further injury.

  • Splinting – Supporting dislocations and fractures to minimise pain and prevent further damage.

Why Primary and Secondary Care with AED Training is Crucial

Immediate response in emergencies saves lives. This course ensures participants can:

  • Act confidently in the event of cardiac arrest, choking, or severe injury.

  • Provide critical care in the first few minutes of an emergency, increasing the chance of survival.

  • Operate an AED effectively, which can double the chances of survival in cases of sudden cardiac arrest.

  • Create safer communities by fostering a culture of preparedness and resilience.

According to statistics:

  • Up to 150,000 people in the UK die annually in situations where first aid could make a difference.

  • Only 9% of UK parents feel confident administering first aid to their children.

Be Prepared for the Unexpected

This course addresses these gaps by providing practical, hands-on training that empowers participants to respond effectively. Emergencies can occur anywhere—at home, in the workplace, or in public spaces. This course ensures you are ready to provide life-saving care when it matters most.
